Laura Haapasalo (1993-FINLAND)
Laura Haapasalo lives in Rovaniemi, Finland. She will be graduated from Univer-
sity of Lapland at the end of 2019 as a master of art student. Her main media is ce-
ramics. In her pieces she studies the versality of human nature, expressing emoti-
on and motion through human and animal forms. She marvels the orientation of
sight and what and how people are willing to confront and react on what they see.
She is seeking symbolism through animalistic charasteristics through her cera-
mic works and is intrigued by confronting humane emotions. To be able to touch
and be touched by art, both physically and mentally is the language of art. The
most fascinating thing for her is “the absurd songs of silent statues in space, ma-
king viewer dance oddly around the pieces as they study them with their sight”.
